Roman's Journey at Pet Practice Basingstoke
Roman presented to our Basingstoke practice with an inflamed area next to his left eye. This was found to be a swollen tear gland. He had developed a condition which Rottweilers are predisposed to, commonly termed cherry eye.
The tear gland is crucial to maintaining tear production and health of the eye. With cherry eye the gland becomes prolapsed and inflamed. Roman needed a surgical procedure at our practice to relocate the gland back into its correct position, and in so doing protecting the eye from the consequences of a reduced tear film.
Surgery complete, Roman was back to his handsome, happy, playful self!
